Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
November 2003

The CWHM is located on the grounds of  the Hamilton International Airport. The museum is the triangular building on the lower right corner of the property on this aerial view.
The first order of business was to set up our campsite. Our site was underneath the starboard horizontal stabilizer of the Mynarski Memorial Lancaster.
When we were all set up, a meeting was called to go over the rules and explain the program for the evening.

The two activities for the evening included making a Komono Flyer and the Combat Simulator.

After those activities, the group was divided into several small sections and taken on a "lights out" tour with only our flashlights to see by.

One of the best activities was the 3 aerial combat simulators that were hooked up so that the pilot could choose to attack an aircraft in the program or one of the other participants plane.

Some of the aircraft in the collection as seen from the Gallery. A B-25 Mitchell is in the centre.
The RCAF CT-133 Silver Star was set up as an interactive display allowing the youth to operate the landing gear, canopy, formation lights and control surfaces.

Since CWHM's Lancaster is one of only two flying Lancasters left in the world, the insides were off limits, however a ladder allowed you to view the cockpit.

This aircraft is a familiar sight in the skies of Southwestern Ontario.

Hmm, what can I say?
Our entire contingent assembled for a photo the next morning.
