This year the Troop wanted to enter bridges into the Bridge Busting competition at GETSET. In the weeks prior, the patrols worked on the construction of their Popsicle stick bridges. Here we see Josh, Paul and Trevor working on their design. Here Cody, Elie and Max work on their bridge with Scouter Bill. One of the available activities was Lego Robotics.
Here, two of the creations seem to have had a collision! These were the two finished bridges built by the 66th Troop on the table ready for the Busting to be held later in the day. A close-up of one of the bridges. During the morning, Scouter Bill held two seminars on model building. Here he is during the first session. Our Troop at the model session after they returned from their tour of the UWO solar powered car. I'm not sure what Alex is doing, but he sure has everyone's attention! Scouter Vince shown introducing Scouters Bill, Barry and Mr. Steinman to the Scouts before they start building their model kits. Like little Beavers, busy building their model kits Another view of the model building with our Troop in the background. Time to Bust those Bridges!
Here Max applies pressure to the hydraulic press until the bridge fails structurally.Alex took his turn destroying his Patrol's Bridge.
