Slylan Fall Cleanup Camp
November 2001

Before the start of the Leaders Meeting on Friday night Scouter Dave Burns received a surprise congratulations for receiving Scouts Canada's Medal of Merit.
On Saturday, after a hard days work by the approximately 160 youth and leaders attending the camp, everyone was treated to dinner at Frontierland provided by the Properties Committee. The menu included 80 pounds of roast beef, 100 pounds of mashed potato with gravy, carrots, corn and cake with ice cream for dessert. Earlier in the day, the committee provided us with a lunch consisting of grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken noodle or cream of mushroom soup.
On Saturday the 66th Troop removed the old Camp Sylvan sign on the highway and erected a brand new framework to rehang the sign from. The old sign got a new coat of paint and we finished the job by hanging the sign back on its frame Sunday morning.
With the work finished we posed for a quick picture before heading off to Scout's Own.
A special Scout's Own was held by the 70th to pay our respects on Rememberance Day.
The 80th Westmount pose in front of one of their projects from the weekend - a new fence in front of Frontierland.
The 80th also repaired the bridge below Frontierland.
The bridge was renamed the "Lady Bug" bridge and a commerative plaque was attached to the edge of the bridge.
