Swimup Ceremony & Fishing Trip
June 2001

This years Swimup Ceremony was held at the Komoka Trout Farm and although the weather not the best, the youth, like this Cub, enjoyed trying to catch "the big one".
One of the Beavers shows us his Perch from the "Catch and Release Pond".
Rackshaw definitely came well dressed for the event!
Hawkeye demonstrates how to put a fishing pole together for a Beaver.
Three Scout Moms sit patiently in the drizzle to wait for some fish to be caught.
After we were all done fishing, the BBQ was fired up and those that stayed to endue the "vertical dew" enjoyed Hot Dogs and chips before the Swimup ceremony.
Unfortunately, nobody caught any Trout for us to cook!

NOTE:
Next year our Swimup Ceremony will be held after we are finished planting trees with Scoutrees for Canada in April. This way all members of our 3 sections will be able to attend and allow those youth who are moving up to spend some time in their new section before the Scouting year ends.
